Statutory Sick Pay (SSP)
Elite Personnel Ltd, as your statutory employer, provides Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) in accordance with UK legislation. From 6 April 2026, SSP is payable from the first day of sickness absence (there are no waiting days). Eligible workers will receive the lower of 80% of their average weekly earnings or the current statutory weekly maximum rate (for 2026/27 this is £123.25 per week). SSP may be payable for up to 28 weeks in any period of incapacity for work, subject to qualifying conditions. Workers must notify us on the first day of absence and provide self-certification or a Fit Note where required. Full details are available on request.
