Elite Personnel are delighted to be recruiting for a brand-new position within one of our established clients.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who has a genuine interest in IT, enjoys helping others and is looking for a varied, hands-on role within a friendly and supportive working environment.
You do not need years of IT experience or formal IT qualifications. Our client is looking for someone with a positive attitude, good common sense, a willingness to learn and the ability to turn their hand to a variety of tasks.
Working closely with the IT Manager, you will provide valuable day-to-day support, helping to ensure that the company’s IT equipment, office systems and general operations run smoothly.
This is a practical, varied support role rather than a technical IT specialist position. It would suit someone who enjoys being helpful, likes solving problems and is happy to take on additional office duties when required.
Key Responsibilities
Assisting the IT Manager with general day-to-day IT support.
Setting up PCs, laptops, monitors and other IT equipment for employees.
Helping colleagues with basic IT issues and troubleshooting simple problems.
Moving, connecting and installing computers and associated equipment around the office.
Assisting with new starter workstation setups.
Helping to ensure IT equipment is maintained, organised and ready for use.
Supporting the IT Manager with general administrative and operational tasks.
Ordering, collecting and replenishing company supplies, including office essentials, refreshments and bottled water.
Running business-related errands as required.
Assisting with deliveries, equipment movements and general office requirements.
Taking on a variety of additional duties to help support the smooth running of the business.
What Are We Looking For?
We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates who:
Have a genuine interest in computers, technology and IT.
Have basic knowledge of PCs, laptops and Microsoft Office.
Are practical, hands-on and enjoy learning new skills.
Are happy to undertake a mixture of IT support and general office duties.
Have excellent communication skills and a helpful, approachable personality.
Are organised, reliable, flexible and willing to use their initiative.
Are comfortable undertaking physical tasks such as moving and setting up IT equipment.
Are looking for a stable, varied role rather than a fast-track IT career.
Are happy working as part of a small team and supporting colleagues at all levels.
Previous experience in an IT support role would be an advantage but is not essential. A positive attitude, reliability and a willingness to learn are equally important.
What’s on Offer?
Initially a 6-month contract with the possibility of a permanent position.
Monday to Friday, 9.00am – 5.00pm.
Fully office-based position.
Free onsite parking.
20 days’ annual holiday plus bank holidays (pro rata during the initial contract).
Company pension scheme.
Company social events.
Friendly and supportive working environment.
Hands-on training and the opportunity to develop practical IT skills.
A varied role where no two days are quite the same.
Is This the Right Opportunity for You?
This position would be ideal for someone at the beginning of their working life, someone with a basic IT background or an individual looking for a steady, enjoyable role where they can become a valued member of the team.
Please be aware that, although there will be opportunities to learn and develop your knowledge, this is not a role offering significant career progression into senior IT positions. It is designed to provide ongoing practical IT and office support.
